There haven't been many earnings warnings this quarter. If earnings are good this quarter, they might bring some stability back to the market.

Hard to assess impact of MSFT ruling, because MSFT will no doubt appeal it and drag things out for a very long time.

Rande:

Do you think that with the recent carnage some of the most desireable stocks are at great entry points for long term investors? Or do you see a continued selloff now and through the summer? Some of what people were calling the most desireable stocks 2 weeks ago are now 50-60% off their 52 week highs. If alot of this selling is "window dressing", then doesn't it stand to reason that there should be a pretty fierce rally in these same issues soon?

My $88 MSFT buy order hasn't filled yet. Great buys in some techs now, like most UIS. Anyone who doesn't own it now's a good time. Look at the techs going up (though not much) IBM, CPQ, etc. Value techs. Wish I had some dogs of the Dow today but at least I'm still only down 1% or so. Wish I had sold my ESHR two weeks ago. Oh well.
CMGI down to base of 100. Will probably hold it. Condolances to high-flier holders. Congrats to boring stock holders. Though when I see Wells fargo at $45 I know that's probably peaked there. Rotation may reverse tomorrow or in the next few days. I wouldn't be selling techs today. Look ahead to thoe with probable great earnings of stories like Alta Vista IPO.
