I can't comment about the size of the market for the two different products but my opinion is that the optical transceiver has less competition at the moment. Redback is well entrenched in the subscriber management system segment and it should take a little time to eat into their share. It is very promising that this process has commenced.
On another topic, it is very hard to time the next run-up. Many other tech stocks have been killed here and there will be serious competition for the first wave of "reentering $". Many professionals, such as Greg, will want to see a reversal before they spend any cash resources.
FWIW I believe that as the market begins to focus on fundamentals such as real revenue acceleration and cash flow growth MRVC will be well-positioned to deliver compared to many of the players out there. Thank heavens, we don't need to go the market for cash to stay in business like some of the "internuts".

Darn! What blood bath!

Margin calls did the damage toward the end of the day!

I'll pick up some more this week. Business continues to be very good and IPO's are on the horizons.

Many good things will come soon enough! The problem is that "soon enough" is not soon enough.

<<I don't know enough about the two products to guess which will be the real revenue generator. Any thoughts?>>
given the two products will generate revenue for what will eventually be two separate companies, i'd say they'll both be "real revenue generators" for their respective companies. Red-C will be competing directly with Redback, so it should get some serious press as we near the SuperComm show in early June.
Speaking of SuperComm, I got the invitation today and noticed only MRV and New Access (now Zaffire) were listed as having booths. I sure hope MRV will have all of their divisions represented under their one umbrella....
