I wonder what INPR shareholders are thinking now,

I'm thinking, I'm still down a lot since this stinking merger was announced. What was the INPR BOD thinking? I hope they are personally sued.

Tom

I can't speak for all Inprise shareholders, but I can tell you that I STILL don't want to be a Corel shareholder. Inprise is in a much better shape financially than Corel. Inprise has technology that just doesn't fit in the Corel portfolio. Inprise isn't plagued by class action lawsuits, illegal trading practices or a CEO with his foot firmly placed in his mouth. There is an organized effort to kill this deal.

The jump in afterhours is MSFT related. A quick history lesson will show that Inprise (then Borland) was dominated by Microsoft's illegal business practices long before Corel's office suite was born. In fact, Paradox and QPro were both Borland products. As for the Debian distribution which Corel has repackaged, that is not where the majority of analysts say the money from Linux will come from. Its consulting services and custom work using open source materials. I can see no compelling reason to merge with Corel.

I think Tom C and Dennis Nicks very clearly told you what many, if not most, of the Inprise shareholders are thinking.

Personally, I wish the vote were to take place this week so we can vote it down and get on with our (financial) lives.

I like it like that. Can make quick bucks that way. Can lose big too. Corel is becoming a day trader's dream.
