Bobby, your views are anti-consumer.

The OS is a complex beast. Seemingly unrelated features need to be added to OSes to really make the OS better. One such feature in Microsoft's opinion is the internet browsing. In their search for a more user-friendly UI, if they find that having the "internet look and feel" is the better UI, then they will need to put some internet technology into the OS so that it can used on ANY machine. If speech recognition becomes a reality, then the OS must respond to spoken commands and speech recognition would need to be added to the OS. This is a simple evolution of the OS. Using this evolution, I can click on any URL in my e-mail, document, spreadsheets to browse a linked document easily. This evolution is made possible by the browser. What is microsoft to do ? Just not improve the product for the benefit of the consumer because it could harm Netscape ? You and the judge are looking at everything with colored glasses. It is time to see things clearly for the benefit of the consumers...
