thanks Bipin. I listened to the conference call, and i think the blueprint the 3 firms have set up is real and will be useful to them and their customers. that is, a customer will be able to purchase a software structure that
enables them to set up a commercial website: that operates on the web through cisco hardware by means of oracle software using emc's storage capabilities.
but oracle's claim "oracle provides the software that powers the Internet" seems to me extreme. like al gore inventing the internet. i get queasy when an outfit i'm invested in gets into hype. it's what got me out of lu at 75 before the debacle, and got me into nt.
would you know, Bipin, what does oracle sell that "powers the internet"? all i know they have is the best databases in the world. that's plenty: good for $2.4 billion last quarter. but what the hell does "power the internet" mean?
