john- see here's the deal. or maybe it's not the deal. but it seems like the deal to me so i'll just say it's the deal. there's a big change in the air. it's a revolutionary change. it's not just a technological change. it's a quantum leap in human evolution. the technology is the outward physical manifestation. how it's being created and used and the vision to further it along its inevitable path is spiritually, naturally, divinely driven by life's longing to know, experience and express itself in every way possible... quality of life for every being, living and non living. believe me - it ain't greed. if it was, this is the FIRST place you'd see it - right here among us new paradigm wealth chasers. but you see a lot more love, tenderness and mutual help here than you see greed. change is painful and it's scary as hell. kidd could be in a minimum security facility by now if he wasn't afraid of the change - he went straight to leavenworth, learned how to survive there and rather than risk change and grapple with a whole new environment when he was eligible he just stayed there in a deeper hell because it's familiar. that's what's happening in our economic world... old economy vs. new economy. especially in the last week or so, you can see the desperate clinging to the old familiar economy - it is fear. (just a fact not a passing of judgement) evolution does not happen in a smooth, progressive, linear fashion. it happens in leaps. finally, when a critical mass has moved to a new paradigm, BANG!... there's a quantum leap of the rest of the mass from the old to the new and the old dies. right now we're in a critical stage where the fear of jumping is painfully wrestling with the fear of death from not jumping. there are now as many of us who have moved toward the new paradigm as have not. the natural force of evolution moves more of us across the scary abyss every day. soon, a critical mass will be on the new side of the paradigm change and BANG! there's no going back because the old is dead. keep yer butt on the right side of the paradigm change, (which you're doing of course) but also keep in mind life's ultimate goal for itself... so you'll know what the future holds. that natural goal will not be denied. MSFT was a blessed champion of the new revolution for years and should be recognized as playing a critical role in this evolution. however, lately, it made several critical errors, involving... 1) self-importance (thinking that they knew the path better than anyone else) and 2) greed (trying to grab all the power because of number (1) above) they violated natural law of universal abundance... quality of life for every being, living and non living. and they did not foster universal participation in the growth process. QCOM (and a few other companies) are often referred to as the next MSFT. there are lessons for them to learn and heed as they go forward. i don't believe the squeeze factor on CDMA patents for royalties is destined to be as long lived as professed by some. there will be a loosening grip if QCOM is to survive for a long time. there will be many partnerships with win-win solutions ahead if it is to remain a successful participant in future growth. when you look for success and longevity in a company in the new economy, in the new paradigm, look for its alignment with natural law driven by life's longing to know, experience and express itself in every way possible... quality of life for every being, living and non living. that isa where you isa gonna find wealth and fulfillment. and if not... polvie isa wrong again. HEE HAW!
