Hello Slider!

I must give credit where credit is due. You made an excellent call on FGH, time-wise. Like Johnny Q, I don't think the ship builders are due yet and I played this one strictly for the momentum. I closed out this AM for 20% in three days. Thanks for the heads up!

Sarge, it's good to see something good come your way for a change. Best of luck!

Big Bull, I'm in Santa Fe Snyder (SFS). I firmly believe this company will do well over the next 12 months. I'm playing this one for long term gains.

Speaking of long term gains, back to organizing my tax stuff for the CPA.

Ciao,
dabum

FPSOs in the GOM

"Smart Money" ??????????

This is what Merrill Lynch said: "Virtually all industry sources concede that FPSOs will be approved by the Minerals Management Service for deepwater Gulf developments. Friede Goldman Halter appears to us to have a clear advantage in constructing FPSOs due to: the location of its yards along the Gulf Coast; large drydock facilities (one of which can accomodate VLCC hulls); and waterfront acreage; and proved design capabilities. "FGH's capability to design and construct FPSOs for use in the GOM will be a key earnings driver. Based on the company's long history of innovative design and fabrication, we believe that similarly, FGH should have no trouble maintaining its competitive edge in winning contracts for newbuild and retrofit rigs and vessels also. Further, we think that long term the combined companies (Halter & Friede) are better leveraged than any other U.S. shipyard to take advantage of new contruction opportunities in core markets and potentially new markets, particularly the construction of FPSOs and/or shuttle tankers for use in the deep water GOM market."

It would appear that institutions (Smart Money??) agree with the ML assessment since they have aggressively increased investments in FGH in recent months.

Next!
