Injuries in sports are occurring because every sport moves a lot faster. People are bigger and moving faster. Technology is also causing cars to move faster, balls to fly further etc etc. Also, I would argue technology is causing people to play harder (ask anyone on the Seattle Seahawks roster :). The tragedy of our generation is our generation. WWII was a war that has ended last I checked. Our generation is fighting wars like AIDS and drug use that don't end until you're dead. At that point, they move on to fresh blood. And no one is real hell-bent on fighting these wars. Sorry to go off on a socio-political rant but I hope that enlightens you a bit to where I'm coming from.
