Hi Lurqer. I hope enjoy your R&R in the desert. I'll be going up the the Queen Charlottes myself the week before Easter for a little of the same. I wanted to thank you, belatedly, for your message to "have no fear, and speak up loud and clear". I've taken it to heart.

It's disappointing to see the "no longer lurking" and hope it doesn't last too long.
Kind regards,
Rose.

lurger! Thanks for your concern for the porchers. You are a sweetheart. I feel like a lot of folks think we are in a capsule over here. Not true!

A lot of our porchers lurk and bring back goodies to the thread and we all open them up and look at them and talk about them and discuss them and everyone sits back on the porch taking a whole bunch of time making their investment decisions.

Forgot to mention we care about each other. Sometimes we gotta hold a hand...give somebody a hug....praise someone...pat somebody on the back....congratulate one another....some time we have to correct ourselves. In other words where can you go and get this kind of investment advice and sit around with your family all day and all night thank to The Dr. Dave late late show.

We even give prizes (compliments of Mr. Polvie) every time someone'S post # lands on an even thousand out comes a prize. Someone just today go one for post # 11111.

While doing the above we can fix a drink and relax without anyone being rude to us or feeling intimidated.

And we try to make everyone welcome. All we ask is that ya respect one another. We like really nice friendly folks, just like you are Lurger.

Thanks for hanging out with us and for lurking and bringing back some of those goodies to us.

Thanks
Dealer

Hey Lurqer, didnt know you were able to track which threads I read
or which threads other Porchsters read
I read other threads almost every day
QCOM's, ELON, CREE, JDSU, G&K

why do you assume nobody reads elsewhere?
this is a porch with steps and no fences

do you read other threads? great
so do I
now give it a break
/ Jim

Lurq,

Some say it's impossible to predict market direction. It isn't, it's just difficult. I believe no one can do it perfectly, but there is a large gap between perfect and profit.
What tools do you make use of to predict market direction? Were they predictive of the enormous drop beginning about a week ago?

Getting more market feel is a goal of mine, but despite repeated attempts I have not gotten anywhere with it. ANY thing you can say or resources you can direct me to would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

I feel that getting such a feel would mean finally setting in place what I have always felt is a cornerstone of my investing.

Thanks kindly,
Jeff Smith
