Paullie, the buy and hold strategy is increasingly becoming a losing investment proposition. We are all needing to become traders now more than ever. It is a sad commentary on the state of the market and its volatility. But then not everyone is going to win. . . .only those that are the smartest. . . .I think it will get increasingly difficult for Joe Worker to throw a percentage of his earnings into the stock market and actually build equity. . . Trading is becoming critically important, IMO.

When I say I sell out of a stock or sector. . I sell out.

If you are caught holding, about all you can do is wait out the markets. . .

What do you think the chances are that the Nas and the techs will be higher in one year than they are now? If you think the answer is over 75%, then holding is the answer. . . if you think 35-75%, then you probably shouldn't be holding tech stocks in the first place. . .and should sell when they return. . . .and if you think that techs have only a 25% chance of being higher next year than now, then run. . .run to quality and stay there . . . or just go totally into mutual funds. . and let someone else sweat it out.

Fundamentals always return. . . and the demand for the best tech stocks should outpace supply for some time to come.

Summer port should be adjusted by mid-April. . . like last year. . .I'm thinking more REITs. . . honestly. . .and near zero risk.

Hope that helps. . .feel free to ask for greater detail on anything that might need further clarification.
