Patrick, RE: GV, I am not selling Dell.

Your analysis is correct but misleading as it is coming off the Y2K problem and chip shortage problems Dell pointed out earlier this year.

I never thought I would talk you into selling Dell. Rather, I am trying to better understand your (and others') stance.

I don't think my analysis is misleading at all, given that: 1) for the current quarter, Y2K is not an issue at all; this would seem to me to argue that this would help growth, not harm; and 2) the chip shortage problems, at least according Intel, were an issue for the last 2 quarters (3Q and 4Q FY '00), not the current quarter, (1Q FY'01) and thus are not an impact at all on the analysis.
