New gut feelings on NOVL here...If NOVL Board has been told that NOVL's revenue/earnings growth will miss, I believe they will force Schmidt to accept one of the many buy offers for the co. that have been pending. No way will they allow PMTC-type news to break before...better to accept deal in 40-45 range from current price level. This way Schmidt also salvages some credibility, allowing him to assume high profile CTO-type position in a CSCO/HWP/IBM environment. Buyout deal must be under negotiation now, if NOVL's qtr is off. Poison pill no problem...Board would waive.

This is "only" speculation on my part. But I heard Stewart Nelson wasn't at BrainShare last week. Either the above, or earnings looks fine, and possibly a big NDS deal with CSCO. But something is happening right now that I believe we'll have an answer to in a week or so.

Regards, QuadK
