The government inflation figures are a complete joke. I took my family down to the Outer Banks two years ago on vacation from Montreal. Since we were 2 families we headed out to the local Costco to buy in bulk and save. First shocker was that bulk quantities were more expensive than smaller packages! Second shocker was the prices!! Man, I hadn't been down in two years, and I just couldn't believe the prices for food, clothing, etc. About the only deals were in alcohol and gas. With the exchange rate at 1.64 at the time, the vacation came in at a much higher amount than anticipated. Also noticed that service was less than couteous in stores (we are used to it here!)- I guess it is so difficult to find employees that anything goes. Worst still is that N. Carolina is a big producer of fruits and vegetables and we had to put up with prices such as this: ear of corn @.99, 10 lbs. potatos @$7.00, romana salad @ $2.99 etc. How does the average family cope? Guess those idiots at the White House have free room and board and meals. We need to crash badly if we want to get back on focus of the real world.
