Midway biting the dust today with warnings about losses in the next two quarters, with weak revenues.

The really strange thing happening is that TRST data apparently is saying that overall game sales grew year-over-year in 2000 for January and February. Yet we have THQ forecasting lower profits; and Interplay, Acclaim, and MWY forecasting losses. I think ERTS is forecasting losses as well?

The entire industry must have really stuffed channels in late 1999 which they are eating back now, or else have exploding costs in anticipation of the next-gen of consoles. Either way, THQ continues to look better and better with the rock solid WWF and reliance on mass market titles.

I'm still very suspect about Q3 & Q4, but at least THQ is adding to tangible book value and reducing risk during this down period in the industry. Could be much worse.
