Clapman........<I have 76,534,298 box tops now. Do you think I could use these to help build back my portfolio>............If not your port...Im sure with a tad of glue you could build a small skyscraper....ggg.............You have brought back some Sweet memories for me....like you...I thought Cheerios were ok at best...learned a trick from watching my mother make Rice potatoes......she had a kitchen gizmo that was basically a sieved basket with a piston that forced the spuds through the holes...making a broken string of potatoes that has a slight resemblance to rice......my brothers and I would take the Cheerios and run them through this device ...the end result being a mess of powdered oats...a whole box would barely make a small bowl..........mix in 4 to 5 Tbls of sugar ...add milk..........YUM...This Goop was more fun to make than eat.............Drove my mother nuts to see us power down a box at a sitting........My teeth ache just thinking about "How Sweet it Is"..........:)

Clappy , I used to have a Tony the Tiger Drum set.
Dreamed about that chick in the Partridge Family.

Clappy - Hey you, just got my girl into bed and am playing catch up here...your post cracked me up. My favorite cereal that no one I know remembers was Quisp. Ate tons of it - pure sugar- had a flying saucer and alien on the box...also loved Lucky Charms (still do) - would pick out all the cereal and save the charms for last. My little sister (31) to this day still eats Peanut Butter Captain Crunch.

For a healthy snack instead of chips I give my daughter Frosted mini wheats. I call them "Grandma Cookies" ---works like a charm! (Sneaky huh???)

One final thought...betcha knew this already, but the man who does the Tony the Tiger voice is the same guy who sings the "Your a mean one..." in the Grinch story.

Morning Clappy:

I was always partial to Trix. Did you ever notice that whenever one bought those variety packs, the corn flakes were the last to go? Seaking about Trix, I loved that Slappy Squirl remark (...now ther's a color found in nature). For all those not familiar with Slappy Squirl, I am giving you a homework assignment. You must watch Animanics, and for extra credit, you can watch Hysteria. This is what happens when you have a soon to be nine year old, 4 year old and 2 year old. I think (but don't tell anyone) that I enjoy it more then the kids do. But that will be our secret. I find watching Animanicas in conjunction with Mark Haynes and CNBC crew using Picture in picture helps give some additional clarity to the financial markets. Speaking of which, I just played Greenspans speech backwards and found him saying "...I buried QCOM..."

Now back to our serial/cereal....

Note how cereal manufacturers are becomming more politically correct. No one uses the word "sugar" anymore. They replace it with a more socially acceptable term, "fruit", "honey", etc. Even Kentucy Fried Chicken doesn't even go by that name anyomre. "Fried" is an evil word (sends a shiver down my sclerotic spine), so now they are "KFC".

Catch ya soon...

David
