Does anyone know when SEG is to be delisted? I would think that they would be waiting until that happens. However, it is unpredictable and maybe the committee realizes that dropping of a 12 billion market cap stock like SEG is good as the amount of cash need by index managers to buy JDSU will not be much.

I have to admit that i am very skeptical of this rumor (since that implies a leak of information occured) even though i think the JDSU addition is around the corner thanks to the VRTS addition. We know the committee is very secretative from all information I have read and that is why i doubt there is a leak.

But you never know.

I have a friend who works at JDSU, who has told me, FWIW that employees at this time are "buying" with both hands, feet and everything else for that matter...

This is NOT a recommendation...

Just a comment, here in Ottawa , that they think the stock is undervalued, as business is VERY, VERY Good....

Now up to 29 buildings in Ottawa now, over 7500 employees here...

Take care
Jean

statistically speaking, if I may generalize...when firms are added to indexes, they outperform the index after the announcement and shortly after being added (don't recall the exact figures), but if my memory is correct, the outperformance is roughly 20 days after being added. Then, for the following 6 months or so, it underperforms the index.
