There is a lot of facts that are not correct in this post.It says that Docomo will be in service end 2001 or beginning 2002 with 384 kbps.Docomo said the other day they are a little bit late with commercial service. They now says May 2001.Thats not end 2001.Another thing mentioned was that the WCDMA they will go into service with is some patchwork that has to be changed with Docomos P2.That's not correct either. The standard is set in 3GPP and NTT-Docomo
network is totally supporting that standard. So what they will implement is not a Japanese WCDMA it will be compatible with the rest of the world. There could be some issues still with some mapping of the channels that could be different in implementations but they are very minor differences. Then of course new functions will be added over time but that is nothing new it happens in all systems.Don't forget also that Japan Telecom will be in service in October 2001.
