This rise is primarily due to short covering. The data shows the general public is selling into the strength. I love to see the shorts scramble like this. They deserve it after this last week......

<< on a basic TA note....down trendline from the top on an hourly chart was broken @ ~80 today.>> [Greg:skip this]
Fred, I've bought the TA book but never read it. The conversation today got me scratching around to see if any of the available indicators on my live charts service showed a buy signal. I looked at the MACD chart. The blue line crossed above the red line at the open today and stayed there until 2PM when the price retraced to ~80 then it crossed back on top. Would this have been a buy signal for a TA person and is the blue line the faster moving average line and the red the slower? Live Charts doesn't label them.
Thanks. And now, like Scrooge McDuck, I'm going to virtually open my vault and dive in and count how much money I made today.<G>
Cheers,
Bob
