Anindo, i had the same thought already...posted it on the clown thread earlier today...the consensus expectation of a retest will not be fulfilled. it's either off to new highs, or a break of those lows as you say.

btw, what i have so far seen of earnings wasn't all that great...UIS, TLABS,MU, NCDI....i guess we are in for more of the same. i conclude that from the UIS statement that spending in their specific sector of tech simply collapsed post y2k. i may be wrong of course and the above are the exceptions to the rule. we'll know soon enough...

btw, all that gushing about how great semiconductor demand is is pretty much at odds with the collapsing price of DRAMs...

FWIW - This was the first qtr that I can remember that YHOO didn't rally either before or after "earnings". In fact, it sold off before and after. We'll want to make sure this isn't a trend this quarter.
