Nice piece, well thought out, if a bit "brave Bill Gates" smarmy. I particularly agree with the statement you bolded:

Business people have no way to know if what they do will be held illegal when the only real standard for illegality is the ex post facto standard that they succeeded too well.

Barron's (or whoever this article accrues to), as usual IMHO, has it wrong. Microsoft has had its day in court and lost. They and their supporters need to get over it. Otherwise they're likely to find themselves losing even bigger in the marketplace.
