Bridge Player,

You might want to look into these questions before doing spreads in an IRA.

Bridge Player,
Schwab replied that they permit the following in an IRA:
1)writing of covered calls, and
2)buying of covered puts (married put).

I'm guessing that 2) only means I can buy a put for every 100 shares of underlying I own. Is this correct? I always imagined a "married put" was going to be something more sophisticated.

Regards,
Ron

P.S. FWIW, Neither Ameritrade, Fidelity, nor Schwab permit selling fully cash-covered puts in IRA accounts.
