I did not mean to imply this.

CDG petitioned to join 3GPP some time ago. Membership was denied. It was denied again. Membership is now open to them. Terms set do not represent capitulation, IMO, but acknowledgment that cdma2000 is not going to be the single IMT-2000 standard. Ball is in their (CDG's) court. They (CDG), includes several powerful carriers who also belong to the GSM Association. The game has changed. End game near, IMO.

No. More opportunity for global interoperability, and the capability to distinguish themselves on features of service rather than technology.

I am seeing compromises both ways. Good for all, possibly. Perhaps a relaxation, if not a total cessation, of the "Holy Wars", we constantly refer to.
