Safest buys appear to be XOI issues like MRO, UCL and TX. I may buy back some of those issues.

SDC - From Dain Rauscher this morning:
* The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation plans to sell a portion of its 65% stake
in SDC through a secondary offering.
* The offering will consist of an unspecified number of secondary shares,
improving the current float without diluting the existing share base.
* Santa Fe is the leading harsh environment jack-up contractor in the North
Sea, a market that remains tight as inquiries indicate a continuation of high
utilization levels and dayrates through 2000.

Sounds good, not too far away. I'll be real interested to see if Brent crude bounces strong off 22. That's the area Rodriguez said OPEC would defend, it also is a place that should provide strong technical support. I wouldn't be surprised to see it hit today and reverse. To me this selloff in crude (to the current levels) has little to do with fundamentals and everything to do with futures traders testing OPEC's resolve. I wonder who will win?
