I was just going over some earnings that came out today and this is what I found. I hope the lemmings are watching carefully. They might even learn something. Who am I kidding?..

NEW ECONOMY
TICKER: MOT (Motorola)
Motorola Profits Jump 144 Percent

OLD ECONOMY
TICKER: CDP (Consolidated Paper)
Total profits were up 7 percent, compared with first quarter 1999 and up 1 percent compared with fourth quarter 1999.

TICKER: CHA (Champion International)
First-quarter revenues at Champion, whose main products include coated and uncoated paper, linerboard, kraft paper, pulp and lumber, rose 7 percent to $1.37 billion from $1.28 billion in the year-earlier quarter

The evidence is building. Tech stocks are cooling, so everyone better sell and buy into the old staples if you want to plan for your families future. This is your final warning.
