Chic,

Janet Reno and the justice department have to influence INTC's decisions when it comes to AMD these days. They at least have to think twice now.

Do you really think that the Bush administration will go after Intel? I just hope that George Jr. doesn't continue his father's tradition of sending the troops off for Christmas every year. i.e. Panama, Iraq, Somalia.

I agree with you 100% on your points, but you missed my point. Janet Reno and the justice department have to influence INTC's decisions when it comes to AMD these days. They at least have to think twice now.

chic,

I disagree...I think Intel has a lot of faith in its legal dep't....besides nothing has happened yet to Mister Softee other than its stock price took a hit.

I think Barret and Intel mgmt have been more focused on the networking aspects of business and the net.....seeing them as having more sex appeal and more potential than the pc chip business. In other words they were caught unprepared when AMD began to execute last year.

And I figure that it will take Intel the rest of this year to get their house back in order....it takes a long time to turn around the Titanic.

chic,

re:AMD is allowed to exist by Intel.

Do you really believe this?

It's nonsense repeated enough by Intel supporters that some people give credibility to it.

I have not and will not give it any consideration.

Intel didn't nail their foot to the floor the last six months for their own benefit.

The sooner Jerry and AMD is gone, the better.
