Joe,

Is it a coincidence that you picked the time period since 1995, which happens to be the year when the first Republican Congress (in a generation) was sworn in?

The stock market has done very well for the bulk of the Clinton administration. The budget deficit has gone from life threatening to non-existent. The economy has been growing at the max speed limit allowed by the Fed for about 7 years now.

If you asked me to pick only one - Congress or Presidency, I think I would pick the Congress.

I give Clinton and Gingrich about equal credit. They both took very unpopular stands about the budget which cost them severely. Gingrich was booted, and Clinton barely survived.
