From the lips of Motorola: Motorola said shortages of certain wireless phone components would likely ease in the second quarter but may still affect profits as it pays more to secure scarce parts.

TRANSLATION: Yeah, AMD and Intel are bringing more flash memory capacity online in the second quarter, but damn it, AMD presold most of their output via long term contracts to the Europeans and Japanese at high prices. Looks like we'll have to pay more for the scraps that are left.
