The CC was really bizarre. Get a replay at 402-530-7934. I've never heard a more defensive, antagonistic attitude from ANY public company, and the analysts were KIND. Questions were cut off in mid-sentence, at the end it sounded like they just pulled the plug. No wrapup. With all the fanfare on Asian business, termed a "major strategic win," apparently lacks firm orders, unable to provide any guidance on unit sales other than "in the 10,000's, not 100,000's during 2000." "Give us next quarter, we'll have a better idea then." Comment on the Telegate acquisition for $150 million in stock, what did they get ? 6.8 million in inventory, 126 million in intangables. Insignificant sales. "SAB-101 will not affect our revenue going forward." Sure, that's expected, but what happens to prior sales restatements ? "Component shortages limit sales of Docsis product" RF module ? 65% sales North America, 35% rest. Later Asia became 12%, leaving 23% for Europe, So America, Africa. Will not break out sales by customer. The whole CableLabs issue really rattled them. Every time it was mentioned, which was LOTS. Gotta listen to the CC ! Comment on analysts research reports where S-CDMA was "very likely" to be adopted: "We provided no guidance, they did that on their own." Question on Director's compensation, most companies stick it in the Annual Report: "We don't comment on compensation" Is Gilder compensated ? Flat "NO" - has no position as advisor, anything. Didn't know about stock. "Could you comment on the difference between proforma and actual ?" (mumble, shuffle, mumble....) "Its all related to acquisitions..." Seriously lack of communication here. Big meeting tomorrow with customers. Everything positive, nothing to do with the CableLabs letter. Remember Ilya at Perfumania ? Same vibe. "But let's move on....." < Now who said that !
