Old news Rick. They represent non-refundable license fees from some companies who took out licenses and didn't follow through with the appropriate activities.

This accelerates some revenues that would otherwise have been spread out over a longer period. No other effect.

I wouldn't read anything negative into these non-performing licensors. I only wish the royalty payment came from many more of the long list of licensors instead of just three as reported by Rambus in 4Q99 which is what we are seeing reported now.

In the just completed conf call Rambus' Tate said that there will be substantial production from 5 RDRAM companies this Q, but that not be visible in a financial report until the October 2000 report. In the first quarter of 2000, they said that probably 8-9 million RDRAM's were shipped by three producers and that these royalties will be reflected in the July report.

Tate also said that he still expects 50% of pc memory in 2002-2003 will be RDRAM.

Also, in 2002, he expects royalties from networking device and other non-pc use will start to kick in.
