Of course, this is not the same as 1973 because we don't live in a time-warp. But remember that while history may not repeat itself, it does rhyme! Read a book on financial history like "Devil Take The Hindmost" by Edward Chancellor. We are still the same species that we were 200 or 300 or 400 years ago and we still behave the same way as far as greed and fear are concerned. The fact that many things have outwardly changed doesn't matter the least bit. The underlying emotions are still the same and given similar situations, we would react the same way that our forefathers did 3 or 4 centuries ago.
