Dear HTE: Maybe they said "Blockbuster" and not Lackluster? (gg) What I heard CNBC say, was that MUCH was expected from SUNW so assuming they MADE their estimate not likely much rise in the stock, saying it was already priced in. I wonder if they took into account the 26 point drop we have had from the high?? Who knows, those people are dangerous to your financial health IMHO. JDN

<<.. because yesterday, late AM EDT, one of the talking heads on CNBC reported that Milunovich expected a
"lackluster" earnings report for today for SUNW.>>

I heard the same report and was really surprised, no shocked, when it came across. Later in the day Maria B. did a report on SUNW that seemed to correct the previous report and is in line with Steve M. report from Merrill.

Furthermore, since I have a Merrill account, I went online to check any late research notes by the firm on SUNW. The main concern of Steve M. is that SUNW is rumored to have some delays in their new chip set. Also, he wrote that demand is very strong but there might be a blip when the new Ultra III come out. Customers might wait until the systems hit the market instead of continuing their purchases. I believe SUNW can do some creative marketing to alleviate this situation and make sales more linear.

Bob.

P.S.: Steve M. wrote that he expected IBM's results to be "lackluster" this quarter but pick up in the second half. I think someone at CNBC misread the Merrill report.
