I have always wanted to do the air combat thing. When I get my account back in order (much later this year), I'll perforate your fuselage! LOL

Best,
JKS

Hello again Doc,

If your friend flew Thuds and also Wild Weasels, he is one of those guys who needs a wheelbarrow to transport his cahones around. I had a few friends who flew Thuds - about half made it back - and another friend who flew the (Thud version) F-105 Wild Weasel. He made it back OK, much to his surprise.

I had one mission over the North where SAMs had forced me down into the weeds and out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of something overtaking me from eight O'clock. Scared the hell out of me, my first thought was a MIG-21 about to hose me, but it was a Thud heading South and he passed me like I was standing still instead of supersonic. They said the Thud can fall and fly faster at low level than anything - I believe it.

Did you notice how tired out the body gets after just an hour or so of high g maneuvering? Did you have Oxygen on board? I used to have fun flying the Flight Surgeons around and demonstrating the therapeutic effect of 100 percent Oxygen on hangovers and air sickness. They became believers and you would see them in the Life Support area after a big party sucking up the O2.

Got to make a meeting
