That's all Rambus is trying to do -- make sure that they get paid for the work they've done for the last 10 years. The IP is their work product. That's what they've invented. Hitachi is trying to use their invention without paying for it. It's no different than Oracle going after someone who's running a copy of their database program without paying for it. Or a store clerk going after someone who took a candy bar without paying for it. You don't use someone else work product without paying for it. Is that hard to understand? --- I understand what you are saying but consider this... RAMBUS is like a toll booth with a heavy toll. People have a habit of driving around toll booths if they don't have to go too far out of their way. RAMBUS wants to have the only road or at least place a toll on the other one. If RAMBUS doesn't collect the toll, all the work they have done in the last 10 years means little... People may just take the other road... Jim
