Re: "'It is not physically possible for Intel to increase sales by 50-90%' You know he was asking you to name a part, any individual part, for which that was the case. Would it not be physically possible for Intel to increase its shipments of Willamette by 50%?" I must have misunderstood his question. I thought he was talking about ALL processors being shipped. If the question was simply "name any part that has increased shipments by 50-90%" then the answer is easy: ..CuMine.. by many times more than the 50-90% he mentioned. This is really a no-brainer and Intel really has shipped over 1 million good die from a single fab on a weekly basis. It has been a real laugher to watch this thread think that just because CuMine isn't readily available at the silicon version of the fleamarket, pricewatch, then it isn't shipping in volume. From the numbers presented in AMD's earnings report it looks like AMD has a bigger inventory of unsold Athlons after Q1 than they did after Q4. 200K coming out of Q4 + 1.4M manufactured - 1.2M sold. That leaves an inventory of 400K from Q1 as opposed to 200K from Q4. Clearly Athlon has a limited demand, despite the lies posted here by the zealots, although it's not really suffering considering the record earnings report. I just wanted to point out that the claims of huge demand do not stand up to the facts. Intel on the other hand will report next week on their earnings and usually they report the processor shipments as well. We will get a chance to see if those who have been calling me a liar were really the liars themselves. I already know the answer. Re: "Ooh, the situation is even worse than you describe. These CC transcripts indicate that AMD produced 150K more than they sold in Q3, 200K more in Q4, and 200K more in Q1. That's 550K of Athlon Classic in inventory at AMD and its distributors last month. Now are you sweating those AMD puts you sold?" OK, I'll accept your numbers but I'm not sweating my puts because AMD is making money overall. Re: "You know Intel won't breakout Cumine, Katmai, & Celeron sales like AMD does. They'll only name a gross number like 33 million. Or maybe you're ignorant of that detail. You think Intel fabs are choked with SRAMs for their L2 caches." Last earnings report Intel said they shipped "millions" of CuMines. I think they will give a feel of the magnitude of increase. Your claim that I said Intel's fabs are choked with SRAMs is incorrect. Your willingness to misquote means you will fit in very well here. Perhaps you should re-read it before you comment again. I was providing an explanation to another poster as to why Intel's fabs are not producing 100% processors. EP
