they dont "have" to go back up to their IPO price..
we all just "hope" they do

sorry to hear things are bad for you... this is why etrade should NOT penalize anyone who flips an IPO for a loss

dude, at least you got it at IPO price, imagine how much you would lose if you got it on the first day on the open market ...

Penny -- I have pretty much same experience. Last year, I was flipping IPOs like a madman because I didn't want to hold in case the bubble might burst. Then I watched KANA, and CHINA and VIAN and a bunch of others triple, quadruple and beyond after I flipped. So, with new year, and IPO flip policy, I started holding longer. Cost me a small fortune too. I did bail on FIRE at 85 or so, but many others eroded away. Still have OTGS and OPHM.

Seems like I rarely "get it right". (although flipping LNUX at 235 looks pretty good right now).

Still holding alot of other stuff which might make me change my name to PennyStockTrader, Jr., because that's what they look like now. :)

I am holding lots of IPOs and hurting as well. I was also burned last year by getting out too early and then I try buy and hold this year and they go and change the game on me. :-) I just count myself fortunate to have sold my biggest holding, CMGI, at $110 in March although I'm still getting clobbered. Anyway, I think it's time I add short selling to my repertoire. Even when the market is taking off there are always some stocks or sectors that are getting hammered.

Best of luck to all the group,
Hadrian
