You hit the nail on the head. This was the biggest P&D thread on SI when K ran it. She would pump something, it would run up on a quick pop and maybe run later in the day. People begged for Ks insight whether to hold or not and she would ignore them. The only people making money were the few friends she got in early and her cohorts shorting the hell out of the picks to nail the stuckholders.

This ninth inning appearance by K appears to me to be a setup so her cohorts can dump what they could not get rid of yet on her next pump.

I'm getting flooded with PM's here backing this post. Let's get it out in the open folks......worst thing that could happen is we could be wrong about her....but she'll have to tell us why we are wrong.

Greg, I have to agree with you on many points. Many people just are posting alleged trades too late on the thread to be credible. Part of having no accountabilty in cyberspace. Still the thread has several good people with analysis so I stay. One quote today from the ATHM sticks in my mind.
It is considered rude to make statements about what one has done in the market when what has been done makes others who haven't done it feel foolish. - Ahhaha
Posters calling people fools or stupid when other are losing money is a revealing picture into that person's character. Try it on a craps table in Aurora, IL and you get thrown off the boat.
this is all documented, and all recorded,
This is why I like SI. Proclaimed prophets that pushed 20 bad trades and get one one right are analogous to calling Wolf several times. Easy to track performance of people wanting to be the next CBNC hotshot. Very easy to read TJ's post on miscalling the CSCO collapse way too late in 1998. Only a few ever got that one right. The one poster who got it correct all the way though is one of my peoplemarks. Same will be here on this thread. True talent and experience investors never need to pick a fight, put down somebody, or post trades in hindsight. Pretenders can have that crown.
I give Steve Harmon alot of credit trying to do a top ten list every year. After two good years, this one is documented as one of his worse ever and he is getting flak about it. No stopping the kicking when the guru is on the ground. The year is still young though. George Gilder was up 50%+ this year, now down 8.1%. On his GTR forum, people who invested on his list of telecosm stocks are unhappy.
have to go look thru these battered and beaten companies and figure out which ones are going to run out of money by year end that have their heads stuck up the investment firms's asses,
I think Barron's did an article on that cash flow issue a couple of weeks ago. Check the HOOV thread or Barron's online. Tech infrastructure stocks that are profitable with 30% revenue and EPS growths are good safe bets if buying tech. Maybe the P/E has to be looked at, but I examine at future growth more than a ratio. I never bought MSFT in 1987 because the PE was double or triple the average back then. The techs that rebound the best will not have PEs of 15.
Jack

You offended me. You have nothing over Kimberly. She and I have been involved in some of the most awesome trades of my life and I profited greatly because of her.

As far as her short position, she has been short for a while now, I can vouch for that too.

As far as my coming into the picture at the end, I don't think you realize, but I have been on Silicon Investor for quite a while and BEFORE I came here, I was already one of the MOST bookmarked individuals - there was a reason for that.

I suggest you go to March/April 1999 and look at the NAVR, TUNE (went from 4 to 60 in one week), EFAX, RNWK, AHWY, FNHC threads and see how much I made for myself and others. This is how I became acquainted with both Kimberly and $Mogul - Kimberly had PM'd me saying I had now made her "bookmark" list.

I also had my own newsletter called Techwinners for MarketDigestOnline.com.

Kimberly, me, $Mogul, and westpacific have NOTHING to defend. You are soap scum and have provided NO VALUED added to anyone. All you have done is criticize innocent people like Kimberly...a better trader than anyone on Silicon Investor including me, A@P, Tokyo Joe, $Mogul,...we all readily admit.

As far as your getting brusied, everybody did. It was pretty much impossible not to be bruised - the market came down so hard. The smart ones got out and PRESERVED capital by the time they figured out something was seriously wrong - that was clearly noticeable two weeks ago. The smart ones are WAY up for the period. And the SMARTEST ones, like Kimberly began shorting stocks like TERN at 160.

In conclusion, it was not Kimberly's duty to spoon feed stocks to people. It's so typical of Americans to want a free lunch. Well, there's no such thing...the world is a tough place.

You are now on ignore.

<<Like the IGLD thing....you recommended it at about 12-5/8.....and it sold, and sold, and sold, then finally broke out from the selling to run up about 4 points. 2
days later it's back in the 12's. All your freinds here ask you, do you still have IGLD Kim?? How do you feel about IGLD Kim? Should we hold IGLD Kim?
.....no answer from Kim. No word from Kim.......then the day it gaps up and opens at 45, you say you sold at 45 or so. >>

Message 12359197
I reiterated my endorsement of IGLD on Dec 22, 1999, and 4 trading days later, on Dec 28, I sold it into the gap in the 40s after the release of old news. Granted, I expect only mid 20s as my target, but when the market offers me a seredipitous gift, I would take it.

The fact that you are bitter and disgruntled does not give you the right to rewrite history.

Well, Greg - I came out and said similar things months back and was rudely attacked by Puff as the great defender of Kimberly ...as if Kim couldn't defend herself. I also got plenty of pm's in support of me and against Puff and his language and general persona. Funny though, how many of those supporters turned around and then made nice nice with Puff when they thought they could make some $$$ off him. So no such thing as loyalty here on SI land. I have nothing against Kim except that she would put out stocks that were bought up in advance by her "select" few, and then they would sell them and not tell anyone. Everyone would ask for updates and no response assuming Kim was away. But then, lo and behold, she would appear ignoring all questions in order to put out another stock that she and her "select few" had just bought. Then she would pat herself on the back for the winners but disappear for the losers. Sadly, we all have losers and there is no shame in it. I resented that so many people were being ignored and just left holding the bag. Boy did I get slammed for even suggesting a criticism. It seemed to me that she was always there after the fact saying what she had done -- like selling at the top.

Well, she is certainly an astute trader and I just think -- as I said at that time -- if she is the thread guru she had an obligation to her followers whether the news was good or bad. And it seems sad that she had such great insight into the market but decided to share it after the fact with "her" thread, while giving the information to her "select few" -- some of whom do not have the credibility that she carries. And her reasoning -- why post, because she knows that her little buddies post frequently and would spread the word. I never read once that "Kimberly said" the market was in for a crash. Of course, people like Puff seem to like to take full credit --

<<This past Monday was already halfway into this correction. This correction started 3-4 weeks ago, when I laid my feelings on the line. Sorry Kim, it looks like
hindsight to me, and I'm not impressed. A lot of your freinds have been calling out to you on these threads for months, and you have not spoken. Then, at the
bottom of the ninth, you drop in and say, yeah, I figured this would happen. Hindsight seems kind of like a pattern from what I can remember Kim. >>

Wrong again. As early as two to three weeks ago, I told Brandon and a few others and all my clients that $COMP would fail the 4450 support on the third or fourth try. Although it's true that, until the past Monday, I didn't think Naz will visit the low 3000 this soon.

IOIH, i think you, me and the multitude of thread participants need to realize that we were late to the party on this thread and the clique was in place. They have every right to do whatever they wish and post only among themselves. Just as you have the same right to ignore a poster that yelled fire as the last remaining timbers were being ignited. It seems to irk people that Kim didnt tell them what she told her confidantes. Well, if Kim doesnt call you by your first name and have your ICQ number, guess what? You arent important. Harsh? nope, Focus on the relationships youve made, as she has. Folks the days of Kim being the thread guru are past us, Give her the same respect and anonymity you would give any other poster. She doesnt owe you anything and thats what you should expect from her. Anything she does contibute is a bonus, but its your own thinking that you should derive your trading decisions from. I think we all have a lot more important things to do than worry about Kim and the who, where and when of her postings. (sorry IOIH this not really aimed at you, aimed at all of us)

IOIH. Just sitting here on a Saturday morning having my coffee and read your note to Kim. Once more you hit the nail on the head. Quite honestly I'm amazed at how well you have your head screwed on in these crazy times. Like many others I appreciated Kim's efforts last year. However, her disappearing act and reappearance in the "bottom of the ninth" leaves me cold. Your post says it all and I hope you continue to deliver the clear headed advice we all need. BTW. If you ever decide to start your own thread, I'm there.
