hi mike, im a lurker and fellow qcom shareholder/lover. i wanted to ask you about this article i found from indiviual investor................the
comment about the earnings being built into the price of the stock .......................................please let me know
how you and the g&k's veiw this comment....i was under
the impression qcom was going to have blow out earnings this qrt..
We are confident in Qualcomm's (NASDAQ: QCOM - Quotes, News, Boards) ability to
meet the First Call consensus estimate of $0.24 per share, a 137% increase over the
year ago period. The company has beaten estimate for seven consecutive quarters while
showing annual earnings growth of over 200%. Not bad. But then again, that and more
were fully priced into the stock, although it didn't escape Friday's bloodbath, tumbling
$21.31 to $105.19 by the market's close.

Licensing revenue is expected to be strong in the quarter driven by CDMA international
buildout, primarily in Asia and Latin America.

In addition, as management indicated during the quarter, the communications chipset
business demonstrated signs of improvement. The company began volume shipments of
the new CSM5000 cell site modem for use in wireless base stations on schedule.

While, the company's microchip business is not expected to fully recover until the June
30 quarter, we think that this division should make a meaningful contribution to
consolidated results in the March quarter.
