tg, Roth was not only willing to be the company on wireless and optics, he bet the company on IP when they bought Bay Networks. Almost everybody said he had bought a dog but he saw the future in IP networking. Now, his gamble is paying off. The more I see of his major decisions, the more I admire the guy.

i won't forget that i read that mcginn fooled us for a year or more about sales and receivables, and that he issued press releases about the first all optical router that i later read was neither all optical nor a router.
