I taught statistics to college students for a few years, so the greeks are right up my alley. (Oh, that doesn't sound right, but you know what I mean) I'm a big believer in trading theta, but I've been so stunned by what's happened to the Nasdaq over the past couple of weeks that I've temporarily stopped trading options.

I'd sold some DIM QCOM 2001 LEAPS when QCOM =158 a few weeks ago, hoping to parlay the funds into the 2003's. I knew I was taking a chance o timing the market with that move, but this time I may have gotten lucky. I've managed to lose a whole lotta money like everybody else this week, though, some of which was entrusted to me by my elderly mother-in-law. It hurts.
