Gary, thanks for the views. . .it helps many here to hear a variety of thoughts. Carpe hit on some great points, too.
I believe I am correct that [most/all?] brokerages liquidate assets between 2pm and 3:30pm on the 4th day. . . you might want to ask your broker to verify. But you are right that we are down so low here, that certainly wouldn't be much incentive to drive anything.

And yes, of course we could go lower. Or we could start out lower and turn. Flip a coin, unless you are tied into the morning call. There are some very attractive prices out there right now. . . .I doubt I'll be able to resist them either way.

Funny thing is that the day before the market took the big dump, I bought an internet stock on margin. LOL! Can you imagine?

I bought MMPT . . . and it gained a point and a half on Friday. <g>

Well it is now 2:30 on the 4th day after last week's massive drop.. . .this is the traditional point where brokerages liquidate accounts that default on margin calls issued last week. . . [though they will move the liquidation time forward when the markets REALLY dump hard. . .a practice that will soon come under fire by the SEC]

Currently all major indices are at their low of the day. I expect it to get worse over the next 30 minutes. . . then turn and run north once more. . . also expecting the Nasdaq COMPX to close in the green. . . currently down 41. . .and the Naz 100 is down 65. . . while Dow is down 185. Dow will lead Naz north, IMO.
