Skeeter, when Whitehead introduced the first SMAC at a show, he charged some $75,000 or so, as soon as he got few orders, he raised the price and then some, that is called charging what the market will bear. Right now, there is very little competition and the supply is tight, thus the prices are highway robbery. There is no intrinsic reason (Si-real estate) for the cost to be higher than about 15%. Last week, the price of RDRAM dropped 25% from the week before and as the supply increases, the price will drop further.
