In INVX cc they say they will become the preferred solution with their improved FSA and only ones capable with both a price (at least 20%) and a performance lead over competitiors. They have only SEG now whcih should ramp to 1.5 mill a month for INVX but expect other customers later in the year. With their chip packaging for telecom etc they are saying they will do over 200 mill in 2001 at at least a 10% operating margin. So with 21 mill operating profits and 14 mill net after taxes and 14 mill shares I think we are talking about $1 a share . They do have NOL but I didn't figure this as it may be carried back. But will the market which is supposed to be forward looking do anything or is it dead money to invest until later?

<Would a dramatic slowing in venture investments in dotcom start-ups to store and provide free info for all of us have a substantial impact on server sales and therefore server drives and tape backup?>

I could ponder questions like this all day and still be no closer to a correct answer because I do not know enough about the data going on new servers. My gut feeling is that people are saving data they think will be useful to them. I do not see any difference between the data coming from a new dotcom startup or a well established dotcom except the well established dotcom may be considered more reliable. IMHO many startups will fall by the wayside.

I think increased bandwidth in the business community is behind the strong server market this year. With backbone fiber completed to all major cities I think T1 connections are prevalent in businesses. People can download large Internet files with pictures or sound quickly. Some of it is worth keeping. E-mail has become the most popular way to communicate with busy people and attaching large files is much more efficient than faxing. Pictures, forms, and reports are stored electronically from e-mail attachments rather than in file cabinets from faxes. IMHO the drive business will continue to prosper as last mile communications are expanded to neighborhoods and small business parks. (Remember I am normally over optimistic)

Mark
