None whatsoever. What I said earlier is all that Geoff (or Gary) said.

If they double the width of the data channel, wouldn't that add 66 pins to the package?

It obviously adds at least 32 (16 in and 16 out). Beyond that I'm not qualified to guess how many support pins would be required.

My guess is that Intel is not going to try to implement this new variation right off the bat <G>.
