long-gone sez: ...to get us to believe the Internet can provide our every need want or desire, while in truth, the Internet builds, grows, assembles, mines, and harvests NOTHING!
AHEM...YOU ARE WRONG! The Internet builds connectivity between those with information, goods or services and the user(s) of info/goods/svs.
It grows information. It assembles information. It data mines information. It disseminates information.
Thanks to the internet's access to information which has heretofore been denied by bigots of race, color bigots, creed bigs, gender boobs, sexuality ignoramuses, handicap limitation specialists, geographic distance and economic disparities... poor women of color, for example, have not only capitalized upon their lowly "typist station" wage scales by "typing on their various ISP/Browser combo, but are improving wages due to access to what has been prohibitive economically to access or find, simply because of their gender/sexuality/economic.
However, because there are males out there who think that brawn, i.e., physical brute strength is, say, as in the mining industry, i.e., evidenced by using humongous earthmoving equipment, 100T per day crushers, refineries made to scale for godzilla males, etc., ....these brutes continue to belittle the great leveler contained in the internet's INFORMATION ACCESSIBLILTY. We who use our nimbleness... BRAINS... to move faster and quicker in ...smaller but regular increments than the brutes who have strength as their primary reason for being the hunter/gatherer, we continue to be the smarter, more cost effective consumer/manager of goods, services, and the "budget."
Sorry, but it IS a new day, and smart women like me have not only CLOSED THE GAP between brawn and brains in favor of brains, but have left brutes in the dust with their ultimate weapon crushed...denying access to information. And if we need something heavy moved, all we have to do is find a brute, either pay in "goods" or services, and voila...said item is moved, and the brute is sent on his way with a head pat ...and a snicker as soon as he's outta sight!<g>
Think about it, and get yer head turned around. To continue my one example, I enjoy data mining about as much as I do gold mining, and everyone on here knows how much I love gold!
In fact, the sloth and slop and indiscriminate waste of gold, laying above ground GOLD awaiting recycling is just such a niche, where not only I as a woman have packed more value for what I CAN CARRY than a shovelful of .001gpt goldore brutes can muscle around, but I continue to run circles around the males who just shake their head and continue to make a mess which I'm only too happy to clean up.<vbg> check it out: members.aol.com
And to think I use the internet to find more gold messes to capitalize on and capture and recover/refine...sure takes care of the "distance" factor after I've cleaned up the local "sloppy gold mess" at only $20 per oz, and now headed to only $2.50 per oz. cost with my new process...yes, thanks to researching -MINING- the net.
