Actually I think the threshold for Platinum is only $100k, but maybe that's for Gold. I know that for Platinum Pinnacle it's $1 million. I also know that they bend the limits for more frequent traders.

Here's another thought for you. Some well heeled investors keep the bulk of their money in a traditional broker managed account and use Schwab for play trading. Thus they may do things in their own account that they wouldn't dream of doing elsewhere.

No matter, though. I do agree that we should see a re-test of the lows next week. I think a lot of people who got burned with margin are using it again to try to re-coup their losses, but will want to "take profits" quicker this time.

min $1M assets
or
48+ trades/year w/ min $50K assets

huge difference to be lumped into the same group IMO

I would imagine more active traders are the ones on margin because they have less capital... but it would be interesting to find out.
