Eastfield is funding drilling at its Lorraine-Jajay Cu, Au, Pd, Pt property in central British Columbia. A $500,000 drill oriented program is planned for 2001 to expand the 32 million tonne (metric) project resource which grades 0.66% copper and 0.2 grams/tonne gold.

The company is bullish on copper prices which are the economic engine of this deposit. The BM Breccia zone which is southeast of the main deposit has yielded selected rock samples that returned an average of 1.92 g/t platinum and palladium as well as copper values of 29.9% and average gold content of 14.52 g/t. Follow-up work, including drilling, of this and other high priority targets, is planned for this summer.

The Eastfield website contains information on the Lorraine-Jajay project and a link to a detailed project brochure (pdf file).

Eastfield's stock has more than doubled over the last few months, based on the acquisition and funding of this project, and bears watching.
