Their forward earnings and statements do not matter at this time. Sure QCOM may rally for a couple of days. But market conditions and psychology matter much more right now. Last week was no fluke. That wasn't a shot across the bow. That was a missile fired at the hull. We've got a 3 month void after earnings' season. We've got the "dreaded" summer doldrums. We've got the "dreaded" Sept-Oct period. This is a time for the patient investor not to jump on every report or buy recommendation. I'll bide my time until after the election when the honeymoon period will begin. The November to spring, 2001 time period would be the time to be very long and even margined.

Bill Gross from Pimco, one I truly respect and admire, stated that the Fed is not done and could lead us near or into recession if need be. He said the Fed may even overshoot but this time the Fed will not bail out the markets. That was one of the catalysts that led me to unload QCOM & JDSU. I rather, at this time, listen to the most respected bond trader in the world than listen to another Wall Street guru or analyst who only have their firms' agendas in mind, not their customers.

Now if I'm wrong in my assessment, so be it. But if anyone thinks we're just headed back to Naz 5000 in a V formation, I wish them luck. There will be plenty of opportunities to pick up bargains. This will be a market for the patient investor.
