You and Neocon probably share 99.95 per cent of the same genes (except on the X and Y of course). You probably share almost perfectly common mitochondrial DNA. You may want you DNA to survive and not Neocons, but you may not have your genes survive without mixing some with your mates. Genetic inheritance is inevitably a cooperative arrangement. The selfish genes are only relatively selfish. When you help Neocon's genes survive (if you do) you help most of your own genes survive. It's one of the prices of being human. No gene give's a damn about who takes it to the party.
