I don't know why you've got ants in your panties? Sometimes things are so obvious they're barely worth discussing - if you have gold bars they are heavy, difficult to move around - so isn't it obvious even to you that a gold certificate is a less cumbersome way of owning the gold? And it's safer despite what you say. With stocks (as in stocks and shares in case you need that spelled out) one doesn't even need a share certificate these days. I guess you would like a little piece of each brick, window, assembly line, rather than owning paper in GM?

Or have we unearthed the peculiar form of paranoia that some who are gold bugs seem to be tarred with? The mere mention of paper gives rise to fits and rants and tantrums. Only gold will do - well suit yourself but don't bother me with your weird prejudices.
