Dear Richard: I too was disappointed in their switch to AMEX from Discover, however, I had no difficulty getting my American express card. The person taking my info over the phone was very polite IMHO and the card is kind of nice, especially since I had my picture put on it and it now serves as the COSTCO card also. I learned that the REASON they switched was because DISCOVER refused to cobrand the card. Ie COST wanted a dual purpose membership, credit card and for some reason Discover wouldnt do it. As far as benefits go, the AMEX card costs COST more than the Discover card and we as users get IMHO lesser benefit. So I still use my DISC. card at the gas pump. JDN

The Culver City store was so crowded today that I could hardly walk in a straight line anywhere in the store. There were so many people pushing big baskets of goods. I don't think they are going to miss you. My Costco card worked just fine. I need it to get in at any rate. why not use it. Works just fine at their pumps as well.
